SCCYC Opti Team sails to success at the 2025 Team Trials

The young sailors in our SCCYC Opti Team had a fantastic regatta at the 2025 USODA Optimist Team Trials in Norfolk Virginia.
Coach Manny and guest-coach Bocha led the team through five days of practice and four days of racing in tough and varied conditions.
Four of our sailors (Miles, Joshua, Cassady, and Adrian) finished in the top 40 out of the 250 competitors, securing their spot on the US National Team, and opening up opportunities to represent the USA in upcoming international regattas. Huge congratulations to Miles Gordon, whose top-five finish sends him to the 2025 Optimist World Championships this Summer in Solvenia to represent the United States.
It was an incredible way for Coach Manny and all of our sailors to end their 2024-2025 season. Please give all of the sailors and their parents cheers and congratulations when you see them next at the club.
