SCCYC runs multiple series of dinghy races inside the marina:

• Sunstroke Series - from May through August, 20 Thursday nights @6:00pm with as many as 5 races. 2 or 3 one design classes compete
• Shallow Water series - 4 regattas through the year. These handicap races are run from the club house into the main channel
• Thursdays After Dark series - Similar to the Shallowwater series, this is a series of winter nighttime races offered in the clubhouse channel after the sun goes down. 
• Friday Night Posses Series - From April thru September, this low-key Friday Night race for club members and Bluewater Sailing employees and students  features an inverted start at BurtonChase Park, round the vbreakwater, and finish back at the park! See the Racing 2024 section for more info!

The Campbell Cup is another great race that is run in the fall. It is a pursuit race, so strategic tacking may be in ones favor! After a great day of racing, the event ends at the club-house with a pumpkin carving and chili cookoff!

A popular race is the Outlook Trophy Race which has been run since 1940. It is a pursuit race around the buoys with windward/leeward lags and reaches over a 13 mile course. The event is open to all boat classes and is a lot of fun to see big boats catching up to small dinghies - not always.
