South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club (SCCYC) is an inclusive, hands-on yacht club for people who want to actively participate—on the water and in the life of the club. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, but they share a common interest in using their boats, contributing their time, and being part of a true community.
SCCYC is home to the Marina’s most active fleet of adult dinghy sailors, along with big-boat racers who compete at a high level. We also have members who enjoy cruising under sail, power yachting, or simply spending time on the water with friends. Some members do not own boats and participate by sailing with others or renting boats, while remaining fully engaged in the social and volunteer life of the club.
What unites SCCYC members is participation. Our boats tend to be practical and affordable, but they are among the most actively used in the Marina. Whether racing, cruising, or helping run an event, members are regularly involved and visible around the club.
The social life at SCCYC is closely connected to yachting and is notably vibrant. During the summer racing season, the club is busy after weekly Sunstroke races and special regattas, with sailors, race committee, families, and friends gathering at the clubhouse. Throughout the year, members also value more casual traditions such as monthly brunches and dinners, music events, and regular ukulele nights. Members appreciate that the club is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
At the heart of SCCYC is a strong volunteer ethic. The club is run by its members through self-organizing teams that manage racing, social events, facilities, and day-to-day operations. This hands-on involvement builds lasting friendships and a strong sense of ownership. Families are an important part of the club, and many children grow up around boats, races, shared meals, and volunteer activities—learning by doing alongside their parents.
Application fees are $120, and quarterly dues are $230. Dinghy mast-up storage is available in our boat yard immediately adjacent to the clubhouse, with water access via a five-ton hoist.
If you are looking for a yacht club that values participation, camaraderie, and being actively involved on and off the water, we invite you to apply for membership.
